Chloe's favorite pastimes include barking at squirrels, barking out the front window of the house - on top of the couch for a better view, and trying to scam a sip of our coffee in the morning.  Chloe is a morning dog, and LOVES to eat...I mean she REALLY loves to eat.  We feed her in the morning when we get up, and even before we get within sight of her crate, she gets all excited and yippy in anticipation of breakfast, almost to the point where she seems to be losing her mind.

First and foremost, Chloe is an athlete.  She is a bit longer and leaner than the breed standard, and her legs are very long.  She's really fast, and can jump very high - even from a standing start.  She has been known to jump over fences and other objects with relative ease. She's also very sneaky.  Unlike Albert, who just throws himself at you when he wants attention, Chlo kind of sidles up to you, and slowly - but surely - invades your space.  Before you even know it, she's lying in your lap, or has edged one of the other dogs out of their space. She's a very tenacious dog.

Chloe loves sitting in front of space heaters.  RIGHT in front, to the point where she gets this stupid little hypnotized look on her face.  It's almost like its drug induced.  Chloe is really a sweetheart, and we spoil and love her to death.

Albert has a passion for java (the beverage, not the language - he prefers Peet's Coffee), and has the most distinctive bark known to the canine world - he sounds more like a rooster than a dog!  We recently abducted Albert, from Ms. Marks mom, and are in the process of writing a ransom letter as you read this.  Albert is actually Milo's half-brother, and he's a GloJan dog as well.  Albert is the quintessential schnauzer - demanding attention on a regular basis, throwing himself into your lap for a good pet even if you aren't in the mood, and "crowing" out the window at various "interlopers".   We have recently taken to calling Albert "Snoopy", as he has decided that sitting on the couch is not enough...he needs to lie on the top of the back of the couch so he can be the master of all he surveys - perched "high and dry" above all dogdom.  Albert's ceaseless energy and his capacity for love and sweetness is exactly why we love the breed so much...he just melts in your arms!

Milo, on the other hand, enjoys obsessively "burying" his plastic toys all around the house,  chewing on hooves,  and generally annoying Chloe and Albert on a regular basis by poking at them with his nose.  Milo has a very unique personality - he is surprisingly even tempered, and sometimes we call him "Mild Von Schnauzbart", which is a play on his real pedigree name of Milo Von Schnauzbart.  By the way, did you know that the German word "Schnauz" means "nose"?  Milo has to be the cutest schnauzer we've ever had, and I regularly let him walk over me, both literally and figuratively, just because I think he's so darn adorable!   You can see more pics of our "silly snouts" on the schnauzer pages here.
